CJFP Applauds Governor Shapiro's Leadership on Energy Policy
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 17, 2024
The Clean Jobs for Pennsylvania coalition stands for the creation, growth, and preservation of clean energy jobs in the Commonwealth. That is why we are encouraged to learn that Governor Shapiro’s forward-looking Pennsylvania Reliable Energy Sustainability Standard includes a role for carbon-free nuclear energy as he seeks to expand Pennsylvania’s outdated Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards.
Including a Pennsylvania Production Tax Credit for existing nuclear plants that is based on the framework of the current federal production tax credit is a workable starting point for policy that can allow Pennsylvanians to continue to benefit from the always-on, carbon-free reliability of nuclear energy when the federal program sunsets.
We applaud Gov. Shapiro’s continued leadership on energy policy, and also thank Senator Steve Santarsiero and Representative Danielle Otten for their leadership in the General Assembly.

Clean Jobs for PA Urges Challenge to RGGI Court Ruling
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nov. 3, 2023
Clean Jobs for Pennsylvania, a coalition of Pennsylvanians who stand for the creation, growth, and preservation of clean-energy jobs in the Commonwealth, today issued the following statement in light of this week's court ruling on Pennsylvania's entry into the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, or RGGI:
The members of Clean Jobs for Pennsylvania are tremendously disappointed by this week's court ruling. As a result, Pennsylvania will remain behind the curve in addressing air pollution and spurring the jobs and economic benefits associated with the Commonwealth's transition to cleaner energy.RGGI is our best opportunity to protect the environment and create jobs while limiting costs to consumers.
We are hopeful this ruling will be challenged and that a more sensible decision will be made that places a premium on clean air and clean energy jobs of the future

Clean Jobs for PA Hails PA's Entry Into RGGI
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEApril 22, 2022
On Earth Day 2022, Clean Jobs for Pennsylvania issued the following statement upon news that rulemaking for Pennsylvania to join the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) has been published and will take effect at midnight tonight:
"This is a day so many Pennsylvanians have been waiting for. For those of us concerned about clean air, a healthier planet, and the opportunity to pursue 21st century clean energy jobs, today’s news that the Legislative Reference Bureau has published rulemaking for Pennsylvania to join RGGI is worthy of celebration.
As the fourth-largest greenhouse gas emitting state in the country, RGGI will finally allow Pennsylvania to take positive action to protect the health of our citizens, especially our children. RGGI will incentivize renewable and carbon-free energy production, including nuclear power, and will introduce a positive, market-based policy to improve the quality of our air. There is simply nothing more important to our health than the very air we breathe.
RGGI is not just about improving the health of Pennsylvania’s environment and stimulating economic growth, it also provides an unparalleled opportunity to direct funds specifically to workers and communities experiencing impacts from the move to cleaner sources of electric generation.
So, we thank Governor Tom Wolf, PA DEP Secretary Patrick McDonnell, and the many lawmakers who stood firm and pushed back against repeated attempts to derail this process despite poll after poll showing this is what the great majority of Pennsylvanians wanted."

Statement from "Clean Jobs for Pennsylvania" Coalition on RGGI Votes
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 20, 2021In just the last 24 hours, three different state panels -- the Air Quality Technical Advisory Committee, the Small Business Compliance Advisory Committee, and the Citizens Advisory Council -- voted in support of Pennsylvania joining RGGI. These three panels all had previously declined to do so for the draft rulemaking. All three have now changed their votes. It comes on the heels of overwhelming support from voters themselves -- Democrats, Republicans and Independents alike. All of them clearly understand the positive benefits of Pennsylvania’s participation in RGGI. At this point, any effort to stop this progress is an affront to Pennsylvanians.
